PDF packages in Bluebeam Revu are used to integrate multiple PDFs or other files as a single PDF document that enable quick access to a bundle of documents. Revu reads Package as a single PDF container nesting multiple files. It makes your navigation and workflows clearer and handier.

This step-by-step guide will help you discover how to create PDF packages in Bluebeam Revu. Let’s discuss this in detail.

To Create a new PDF Package in Revu 21:

Step 1 – Go to “File” > “Create” > “PDF Package.”

In the new tab, you will have the following options.

  • Add Files (To add individual files)
  • Add Folder (To add a combination of files within the folder)
  • New Folder (To create a new folder)

Step 2 – In the following workflow, let's add a couple of saved files by clicking on the “Add Files” option.

Step 3 – In the Window’s dialog box choose your desired files and click Open. The files will be added to the list under the package tab with a Thumbnail, File Name, Description, File Size, and Modification Date.

Note: You can add different types of files to the same package.

Step 4 – To save the package, left-click on the Package tab and “Save” it to your desired location. Or click Save As to save it with your desired Package name.

Once you save your package, the next time you try to open the PDF package, Revu will automatically recognises it as a PDF package and open Package viewer.

Step 5 – To open all the documents added to a package, click on “Open All.”

Things to Remember:

  • A non-pdf file even though compiled as a single PDF package will open in its native application.
  • To open individual PDFs, double-click on a desired PDF to open it in a new tab.
  • If you make any changes like adding any markups to the PDF, it will automatically update the concerned file in your PDF package once you save changes to the standalone document.
  • Don’t forget to save your PDF package as well to ensure any changes you made remain intact.
