Visual Search in Bluebeam Revu 21

To use visual search in Bluebeam Revu 21:

Step 1 – Click on the Search Panel > Click on the Visual Search icon > Click on the “Get Rectangle” button.

Step 2 – Select the desired portion of your drawing that you want to perform a Visual Search on.

Step 3 – Your recent selection appears in the preview section within the Search panel. Click on the “Search” button.

Your matching results (based on sensitivity) will appear under the Results section below.

Documents Search

– You can also choose to search All Open Documents, Current Document (with all pages), or Current Page.

Sensitivity

– You can also set the Sensitivity level to overfit or underfit your search results.

For instance, the Visual Search is picking all the vertical (numeric) Grids as your sensitivity is “Low”. To refine your Visual Search, increase the sensitivity, and search it again. It will start showing Grids with numeric value “3” only.

Search Multiple Rotations

– To ensure that the search process picks up all installation of sinks, select the "Search Multiple Rotations" checkbox below. It will ensure that all the similar objects or pieces of drawing will be searched and selected (irrespective of their orientation).

– You can click on each instance to see where it is situated on the floor plan.

Results & Markups

– For more options, Right-click on your result will open a drop-down menu from where you can turn your results into Hyperlinks (such as opening a particular document upon clicking)

Other options in the dropdown menu include:

  • Mark for Redaction,
  • Apply Count Measurement
  • Highlight
  • Underline
  • Squiggly
  • Strikethrough

For example, lets highlight any of your search result.

– Once the grid is highlighted, your highlight will start showing in the Markups List. In the Markup List, you can add additional details to the highlighted items like name, location, etc.
