Here's a step-by-step guide to creating a new PDF from pre-defined templates or with customised parameters in Bluebeam Revu.
Creating Custom PDFs in Bluebeam Revu
To create a new and customised PDF:
Step 1 – Click on "File" and select "New PDF."
Step 2 – In the new window set your page orientation and style of your PDF. For instance,
- Template > Custom
- Width > 69 cm (Horizontal Dimension)
- Height > 98 cm (Vertical Dimension)
- Orientation > Landscape (Width > Height)
- Style > Grid Engineering (Background)
- Page Count > 1 (Number of Replicated Pages with the same size and styling)
Step 3 – Click “OK” and a new document opens with the parameters in place.
Creating PDFs from Templates in Bluebeam Revu
To create PDFs from pre-defined templates
Step 1 – Go to “File” Menu > New PDF > Select your preferred template from the drop-down menu. Revu offers 30 pre-defined PDF templates including interactive forms.
Step 2 – Select your desired template, for instance, Submittal. Upon selecting a template, the custom options will automatically fill in and the dialog box will lock the page orientation and style settings. Then click “Ok.”
Your Submittal PDF form will be created like the one below.
Note: If you use this PDF setup frequently, the template can be Set as Default.
You can add additional elements to a document such as text form fields and markups then save it as your custom template.
To access the popular templates quickly:
- Click “File” > Hover your cursor over the “New PDF from Template” You will find the newly created template in the list. When you hover your mouse over a template the “Edit” icon will appear.
- Clicking the “Edit” icon, the template opens in edit mode indicated by the template icon and name in the document tab.
- After opening a template in edit mode, you can also Delete a template, Save a template (The Save As Template option is only limited to custom templates), Import Template from a team member, or Change Template Folder.
