You can create customised and interactive PDF forms in Bluebeam Revu by using field tools, including:

  • Text Box
  • Radio Button
  • Tick box
  • List Box
  • Dropdown
  • Button
  • Digital Signature

  • From the Forms panel, you can select field tool(s).

You can also access Forms from the Main Menu > Tools > Form.

  • To create custom forms, click-drag-and-release to add a field to your desired location. Your fields will be created individually, except for Radio Buttons, which when added in a sequence, will become a part of the same group (selecting one from the X number of options). You can see this hierarchy in the Forms

  • You can also set the order for moving through the forms field using the “Tab” key in the “Forms” To create a custom order, you can

With a form field selected you can go to the “Properties” panel where you can customise your field tools to match your preferences.

You can edit the Appearance as well as some Functional properties of your form fields.

  • For a Text Field, for instance, you can change the format of the field to “Multiline” or “Scroll Long Text”.

  • For list items, you can enter list items and export their values under the “Options”

  • Similarly for a Button, you can edit the button title and other associated properties.

  • To alter button’s actions, go to the Actions section in the Properties panel, allow you can decide what happens when a user click a button.

  • The Trigger is what the user does, like On Focus, which allows you to jump to specific drawing region if you click the button.

  • After choosing your Trigger type, click on “Add Action” to define your actions that initiate a trigger.

  • In the Action dialog box’s Form tab, you can use JavaScript to perform complex actions or “Submit” or “Reset” the form. You can also choose between different options in Basic tab, to choose different actions for your button field.

  • If you have a pre-created or scanned form but it doesn't have actionable fields, go to the menu bar > Select “Tools” > Hover your cursor over “Form” > Click “Automatically Create Form”.

Revu will identify as many form fields as possible on your document and create the appropriate form field over them.
